  • $29.45

Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Three-Cent Silver Pieces and Twenty-Cent Pieces Dansco Album comes in a 5/8" binder and holds up to 25 coins. The album has 2 Dansco pages (series: 6109-1 to 6109-2), each one holding and displaying all U.S. three-cent silver pieces and U.S. twenty-cent pieces minted from 1851-1876. Three-cent silver pieces also called "the trimes" went through many changes in their obverse and reverse designs. Not well-accepted at the beginning of their production, yet they became sought after coins during the latter years of their mintage due to a valuable silver content. Three-cent silver pieces were made of 75% silver and 25% copper from 1851-1853, each weighing 0.80 grams. However, from 1854-1873 their composition changed to 90% silver and 10% copper, each weighing 0.75 grams. All three-cent silver pieces are 14 mm in diameter. The Twenty-cent pieces coins had one of the shortest Mint productions, 1875-1878, and lowest circulations, around 1,355,000 pieces, in U.S. coin history. These coins were made of 90% silver and 10% copper. They measure 22 mm in diameter and each weighs 5 grams. Three-cent silver pieces were only coined at the Philadelphia Mint, while twenty-cent pieces were coined at the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace.
